Pinpointer, his dual rocket-propelled grenade launcher, can lock on target in less than .0003 seconds, but usually trusts Crosshairs to decide when to shoot.
Animates series
The Transformers
Crosshairs was featured in the US season 4 episode "The Rebirth". His cartoon model was different from his toy in the fact that the cartoon had a face mask and the toy did not. Crosshairs was amongst the Autobots marooned on planet Nebulos when their starship's engines were overloaded by the Plasma Energy Chamber. While on Nebulos, he is kidnapped with the other future-Targetmasters. The Headmasters rescue them and Brainstorm modifies their weapons as exosuits for the Nebulans.

The Transformers: Headmasters
Crosshairs was featured in the Japanese series Transformers: The Headmasters. The Japanese animators kept Crosshairs design in line with his toy. The concept of the Targetmasters in this series was similar. One notable exception was the fact that the weapons replaced the robot's hands rather than held by them.

In the world of Transformers: The Headmasters, there are no Nebulons - the Headmasters themselves are simply small Transformers, who, having settled on the planet Master, learned to transform into heads and connect to lifeless larger bodies named Transtectors. It was to Master that the Decepticon forces returned after the Autobots forced them to flee Earth, and consequently, a ship was dispatched by the planet's inhabitants to alert the Earth-bound Autobots to the Decepticon invasion. At the same time, the youthful Autobot, Wheelie, had summoned three of his old superior officers - Pointblank (Blanker in Japan), Sureshot and Crosshairs - to Earth to aid in the clean-up operation currently going on, when Autobot Headmaster Chromedome accidentally activated one of the plasma bombs the Decepticons had left behind. Heading out into space so that the bomb might harmlessly explode out in the void, the Autobots then crossed paths with the approaching Master ship, which was being pursued by the Decepticon Sixshot and three new troops - Slugslinger, Misfire and Triggerhappy. As Pointblank and his men tangled with the Decepticons, the Master refugees offered their help by transporting away the plasma bombs, only to have the bombs detonate in the middle of the battlefield. Recovering from the explosion, Pointblank, Crosshairs and Sureshot discovered that the six Master refugees had been fused to their arms. Although Fortress was able to surgically remove them, a bond now existed between the larger Transformers and the Master refugees, who could now freely attach and detach to their wrists as guns. Unfortunately for these new Targetmasters, the same had happened to Slugslinger and his fellows. The Targetmasters joined up with Fortress's crew on the mission to Master, but quickly clashed with the Headmasters - Pointblank and his men were hard, experienced warriors who thought little of the Headmasters, and Pointblank spent a good deal of time attempting to soothe Chromedome's fiery temper to improve his battle ability.
Books
Crosshairs is among the Autobots who appeared in the 1988 audio book Decepticons at the Pole by John Grant. When the Decepticons set up an energy interceptor at the Nebulan north pole, Crosshairs and the Autobots sabotaged the tower they constructed.

Crosshairs is among the Autobots who appeared in the 1988 Ladybird Books story Autobots Strike Oil by John Grant. On one occasion, Kup was trapped in a field of magnetically-charged dust, leaving him unable to move. Highbrow managed to overcome the dust by inverting electromagnetic polarities, and found Crosshairs on patrol when he went for help. Crosshairs defeated the magnetic field holding Kup in place by lobbing a grenade at his comrade. Crosshairs assured Highbrow the plan was scientific.
Comics
3H Enterprises
Crosshairs appeared in a flashback sequence in the Transformers: Universe - Wreckers comic series. He works with the Autobot Targetmasters and Hot Spot against an army of Nightbird robots.

Dreamwave Productions
Although Crosshairs and Pinpointer did not appear the regular fiction produced by Dreamwave Productions before it went out of business, they did get a one-page biography in their Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye series.
Spark commands an Autobot shuttle crewed by Blaze, Hubcap, Sideswipe, Streetstar, and Windbreaker into space where they intercept a distress call from Spike Witwicky on the planet Nebulos. When the Autobots arrive on Nebulos they meet Spike and Carly Witwicky, Chip Chase and the Autobots Brainstorm, Chromedome, Crosshairs and Highbrow who inform them that the Nebulan scientist Hi-Q is missing. They learn from Hi-Q's assistant Hi-Test that Hi-Q had security monitors and through them discover the scientist was kidnapped by the Decepticons Runabout and Runamuck.
IDW Publishing
During the early years of the war, Optimus Prime wanted to see a lineup and rollcall of all his newest warriors. Ironhide thought this was stupid, but Crosshairs and a few other newbies showed up for this anyway.

Crosshairs was later part of an Autobot team led to victory by Sunstreaker.

Crosshairs appeared at the very end of Transformers: Stormbringer, where Optimus Prime ordered him to "Set course for Earth".

After the battle with Galvatron, Crosshairs joined the crew of the Lost Light on its search for the Knights of Cybertron. During the journey, he participated in a battle with some Decepticons on Temptoria.

Marvel Comics
Crosshairs followed the Autobot leader Fortress Maximus to Nebulos in an effort to get away from war. However, they were followed to Nebulos by Scorponok's Decepticons, and the war began anew. Desperate to prove their peaceful intentions to the Nebulans, Crosshairs was amongst those who surrendered their weapons. When the Decepticons ran roughshod over the planet, the Nebulans pioneered a bioengineering process where Nebulans in robotic suits could transform into the guns of the Transformers. Crosshairs became a Targetmaster as a result, battling the Decepticons on several occasions. After the war proved devastating to Nebulos, Maximus' crew left for Earth, where they encountered the Earthbound Autobots under Grimlock.

Cloudburst, Crosshairs, Getaway, Highbrow and Stakeout were among the Autobots who backed Optimus Prime when Grimlock challenged him for leadership of the Autobots in the issue #263 of the Marvel U.K. comics, "Break-Away!"
If it were up to Crosshairs, he'd be sitting back and relaxing with a nice cold glass of liquid energon at his side. He'd make an ideal Autobot soldier and be a good shot... but that would require him to, y'know, actually try. His Targetmaster partner Pinpointer, on the other hand, tries to balance out Crosshairs' slothful tendencies with his own youthful exuberance. But until the day comes when Crosshairs gets off his rear bumper and actually fights, he makes for some ideal target practice for Decepticons needing to brush up on their skills.

Fun Publications
Shattered Glass
Shattered Glass Crosshairs first appeared in the Fun Publications story Do Over.
As part of his plan to prevent the Decepticons from following the Autobots into space, Ricochet gathered Scoop and Crosshairs and gave them each a Targetmaster partner. He then lured Megatron to their base in the Temple of Knowledge, where Crosshairs helped hold the Decepticon leader hostage. Ricochet was planning on pinning the whole matter on Crosshairs when Optimus Prime eventually found out what they were up to, though Crosshairs was unaware of that.

When they heard the noise of Whisper and the Predacons infiltrating the base to rescue Megatron, Ricochet sent Crosshairs and Scoop out to intercept them. Crosshairs didn't want to put in any more effort than necessary, so he hung back and convinced Scoop to go on ahead the rest of the way without him, pretending to promise to "back him up".

Unfortunately, Crosshairs' resulting attempt at a stasis nap was interrupted both by the sounds of Scoop getting into a fight, and his own being sneak-attacked and pinned down by Rampage and Divebomb. He realized he wasn't going to be able to weasel his way out of the situation without having to work for it, so he called in Pinpointer to attack the two Predacons for him. Pinpointer's attack was successful in getting the Predacons to move away, so Crosshairs got to his feet and told the two he was going to pound them for making him have to get up.

Crosshairs, Pinpointer, and the Predacons then ended up in a pitched battle. Divebomb was eventually able to successfully trick Pinpointer's missiles into dropping the floor out from under the Autobots with a well-timed feint. That didn't stop the Autobots entirely, and they launched their missiles up through the hole after the Predacons, but it wasn't enough to keep the Predacons from moving onward to successfully rescue Megatron regardless.

Later, after the Autobots returned to the Ark launch site in defeat, having missed the launch, Optimus Prime ordered Scoop to take Ricochet and Crosshairs to the Agonizing Rehabilitation Chambers.
IDW movie comics
Many years ago, Crosshairs was a member of Optimus Prime's Science Division during the reign of Protector Megatron. This peaceful existence ended when a The Fallen was discovered outside the Simfur Temple of Simfur, and Megatron changed the military's mission of defending Cybertron to open conquest. He listened to Optimus's pleas for them to ignore Megatron's demand and stay out of the fighting. When the civil war broke out, Crosshairs, like many scientists, joined Optimus Prime's new faction, the Autobots. He watched from a distance as the Decepticons launched the Nemesis, and participated in a mission to bring Sentinel Prime's "torch" invention to the Simfur Temple. At one point during the war, he fought against Thundercracker. He was present when Optimus Prime revealed his plan to capture the AllSpark, and due to the lack of space on the Ark, some Autobots would have to stay behind. Crosshairs was among those who volunteered to stay. Crosshairs was getting ready for a raid on the temple at Simfur when Clocker returned with an unexpected guest: Arcee. Crosshairs explained the Autobots' situation to her, then invited her along for the attack. When Dreadwing's forces betrayed Starscream at Simfur, Crosshairs, Clocker, Armorhide and Arcee created havoc by destroying the replica AllSpark cube and fighting the rebel Decepticon forces. He decapitated Ramjet when the Decepticon had pinned down Armorhide and was about to deliver the killing stroke. He managed to escape with the other Autobots when Dreadwing's starship came crashing down to Trypticon city, destroying the once-magnificent Decepticon city.
Comics
Titan Magazines
Crosshairs arrived on Earth sometime after the Decepticon invasion of Chicago, and assisted Bumblebee and Optimus Prime on a mission to track and eliminate three Decepticon survivors in Indonesia. The Decepticons retreated but Crosshairs had placed a tracking device (which doubled as a bomb) on their boss, and tracked them to Pulau Bidadari. He requested permission to go alone, claiming a sneak attack by one bot would catch the enemy off guard; in large part, this was done to show off his skills as Crosshairs felt humans couldn’t be trusted anymore and it was just up to Autobots. On Pulua Bidadari, he swiftly took out all three of his charges (secretly under the watchful eye of Bumblebee), making sure to mock the Decepticon he’d planted the bomb on before it went off. Optimus felt that Crosshairs was more than combat ready but that they had missed something. Crosshairs (incorrectly) reassured him otherwise.

Films
Crosshairs appears in Transformers: Age of Extinction as a green 2014 C7 Corvette Stingray, where he is voiced by John DiMaggio in an English accent.[1] His robot design features a "trench coat" that stores his guns. In the film, he is very pessimistic toward the human population and his own Autobot team though he respects Optimus. He can be also a kind of a coward, after seeing Grimlock's alternate mode. In the battle in Hong Kong, he rode the Dinobot Scorn into the fight, later nicknaming the Dinobot "Spike". Afterwards, Optimus Prime ordered him along with the other Autobots to protect the Yeager family as Optimus departed for space.
