Headlock is the Mini-Con manager of [[Groundpounder]], who along with his protege was imprisoned aboard the ''[[Alchemor]]'' for cheating during the [[Kaon]] gladitorial games. Escaping after the ship crash-landed on [[Earth (Transformers)|Earth]], the pair became involved in a demolition derby, where Headlock was mistaken for a remote-controlled robot manipulated by Groundpounder's nonexistent driver. Headlock later reverted to his old tricks when Groundpounder faced [[Grimlock]] in battle, only to face battle himself in the form of [[Fixit (Transformers)|Fixit]]. Headlock and Groundpounder were soon defeated and reimprisoned; when [[Steeljaw]] later freed Groundpounder, Headlock was left behind.
