The Dactyls were featured in ''[[Echoes and Fragments]]'' as minions of the [[Master Renegade]], who took over the role of the [[Sharkticons]] in the events of ''[[The Transformers: The Movie]]''; one was also domesticated by [[Kup]] and named Gnaw, after the [[Gnaw (Transformers)|Sharkticon of the same name]]. The same story also featured a Ridge Runner serving as a sparring opponent for [[Hot Rod (Transformers)|Hot Rod]].
